Dear Class of 2028,

We could not be more excited to be welcoming you into both Notre Dame and McGlinn Hall so soon! We are beyond THRILLED that you are coming to live in McGlinn and cannot wait to meet you in August!

The minute you decided to come to this wonderful University, you became part of a very special group (often called "Domers") with whom you will always be connected. The bonds formed over your next four years at Notre Dame will be cherished forever. When you were assigned (by the luck of the Irish) to live in McGlinn Hall, you became part of an even closer community that we hope will truly become a family for you.

While college move-in can be a stressful time, our goal is to help in any way that we can! We recognize that you must have loads of questions about life in McGlinn Hall, so we are here to provide you with some answers!

McGlinn Hall is not only the BEST dorm on campus (2019 Hall of the Year!), but it is also a supportive and inclusive community that oftentimes feels more like a family. Our mascot is the Shamrock, our color is green, and we often call ourselves "McG" for short! We love our fellow Shamrocks and our great community atmosphere. As an added bonus, we also have air conditioning! We are located almost directly behind South Dining Hall (far superior to North Dining Hall), seven minutes from DeBartolo Hall (one of the main classroom buildings), and right next to McGlinn Fields (a field often used for pick up soccer games, hammocking, football, etc.). We also take pride in our participation in interhall sports, resulting in our streak of winning the Kelly Cup (the women’s interhall cup; points are gained throughout the year across various interhall sports). We have a tradition of hosting an annual Casino Night as our hall event, where students from all over campus compete in poker tournaments, blackjack, and roulette - all run by your very own McGlinn Shamrocks! This is a great fundraiser for St. Adalbert’s school in South Bend, a local school that we support and also send students to tutor at every week.

To become connected with your fellow Shamrocks and up to date on all the latest Welcome Week information, be on the lookout for an email that includes a link to join the McGlinn Class of '28 Slack Group Chat!

We are SO excited to welcome you to Notre Dame and to McGlinn! Please explore the rest of the site for info on move-in and McGlinn!
